When venturing through the archways of the gatehouse to the inner ward, you will find the magnificent courtyard adjacent to the impressive great hall which is now used for various functions.
You can even visit the tower where you can walk along the replica fighting platform if you dare. It may be hard to believe but the castle was in ruins by the early sixteenth century.
